One thing I always hear about websites when discussing their merits with friends, associates or clients is that they're as important nowadays as a business card. I agree wholeheartedly, and not just because I want to sell you my services in building one. They provide legitimacy to your already established or growing business and give potential clients and customers another chance to learn about your product. Unlike business cards, though, you can't just pawn off the job of making one to someone in your office with decent MS Office or Photoshop skills.
